Rabbi Louis Isaac Rabinowitz was born in Scotland in 1907. His father, Rabbi Jacob Rabinowitz, had emigrated from Eastern Europe to become a rabbi in Edinburgh, Scotland. Jacob Rabinowitz was the descendant of a long line of Lithuanian rabbis.
