Dear Jeffrey, Thank you for sharing your records.
Just to add an interesting Australian connection with the London’s Central Synagogue (1870). In March 1871, the then fragmented Sydney Jewish community met to debate its future, and ultimately decided to build a new, ‘unifying’ synagogue. The decision was helped by a photograph of the Central Synagogue’s interior, distributed at the meeting. The Great Synagogue in Sydney (architect Thomas Rowe) was consecrated in 1878 and is still standing in its, essentially, original shape and form. Jana Vytrhlik, Sydney
