I’ve previously written about the Jewish National Fund’s report for 1939. This one, from 1953 gives an amazingly detailed picture of the spread and activity of the Jewish National Fund throughout Great Britain and Ireland in 1953. The entire Zionist and general Jewish community in the United Kingdom and Eire was involved in fund raising for land reclamation and forestation in Israel. Many well-known names are mentioned.
Almost one thousand delegates attended the annual conference in London, in 1952. A banquet was held at the Guildhall in London, at which H.R.H the Duke of Edinburgh was the guest of honour, to raise funds for planting the Queen Elizabeth Coronation Forest.
Details of all this activity are described in the report below, with information about Jewish National Fund committees in central and suburban London and towns and cities all over the UK.
The report was printed in Whitechapel by the Narod Press.
