This is a relatively modern item. I had hoped to find older Hendon items for my collection, as both my sets of grandparents were members of the Raleigh Close synagogue after the war, and my father was a member in his own right from 1946, but these magazines and newsletters do not seem to have been kept.
Rabbi Ginsbury succeeded long-time Minister, Reverend Leslie Hardman, and the induction service was presided over by the then Chief Rabbi, the late Jonathan Sacks.
The newsletter, which was distributed with the Order of Service, demonstrates a vibrant and active community.
I have previously written about some other Hendon United Synagogue items, including the Hendon Synagogue Magazine from October 1959 and the Hendon Synagogue Hebrew School Prize Distribution of 1967.
