Berlin, Moscow, Jerusalem, by Elias Paluszak, Yiddish, London 1956.

Paluszak01The writer Elias Paluszak was born in Dobrzyn, Poland, on 6th December 1898.  From World War I he was living in Germany. At the beginning of World War II he was able to reach London, and there he was an active contributor to the monthly Yiddish magazine Loshn un Lebn  (Language and life), edited by A. N. Stencl.  He contributed essays and articles. He died in Hackney, London on 29th January 1964.

Paluszak02Among the books he published were “Shuldik oder nisht shuldik? der fal fun Dr. Rudolf Kastner (Guilty or not guilty? The case of Dr. Rudolf Kastner), London 1955, and this book, subtitled, “tsaytfragen fun undzer velt” (real questions for our world).  The book was printed by the Narod Press in Whitechapel. My copy is signed by the author and inscribed “complimentary for the Dutch Jewish Press, Amsterdam”

Elias Paluszak was an active member of the Friends of Yiddish group.  He is buried at Marlow Road Jewish Cemetery, East Ham.
