By 1907 the Jewish Year Book was in its twelfth year of publication, and was packed with useful information about the Jewish community in the British Empire.
The editor, Reverend Isidore Harris, was born in London in 1853, and educated at Jews College and University College, London. He was appointed Minister of the West London Synagogue of British Jews in 1881. He also wrote the Jubilee History of Jews College and contributed to Chambers Encyclopedia and the Jewish Encyclopedia.
As well as the calendar, information about Synagogues, charities and other organizations, there is a listing with amazing detail of Jewish communities all over the British Isles, including towns and cities in England,Scotland, Wales and Ireland. Many of these are no longer in existence today as members of smaller communities have migrated to larger cities.
