This Annual Report of the Redmans Road Talmud Torah was printed by Israel Narodiczky in 1911. the Principal was J. K. Goldblum, and the Talmud Torah was famous for it’s Ivrit B’Ivrit system of teaching Hebrew. There were 526 pupils, but a shortage of teachers. I have several years reports in my collection – this is one example.
What is interesting is that much of the report is in Yiddish, suggesting that the supporters of this institution included many of the immigrants themselves, as opposed to the more established and middle-class members of the London Jewish community.
